Last Hope TD is an open-world tower defense game set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. You’ll take command of a defensive base, lay down firepower, and recruit special heroes to push back relentless hordes. To survive, you must build and upgrade 12 different turret types and strategize carefully across a huge set of challenges.

The game includes 140+ levels with different difficulty spikes, plus 50+ enemy types to test your defenses. You’ll need to place towers in smart positions and upgrade them to increase damage and effectiveness. Difficulty options include Normal and Nightmare, and as you move up, enemies become tougher by changing their health and even your starting funds.

What Makes Last Hope TD Strong

The game includes a deep skill system for your heroes. Depending on how you build and use them, heroes can unleash devastating attacks and turn fights in your favor. You can also use Epic god skills to deal massive damage to groups or reshape the battlefield to help your towers hold the line.

To help you plan, the Monster Tome acts as a reference resource, letting you learn about enemy weaknesses so you can make smarter decisions during combat.

If you want more pressure, Last Hope TD offers three difficulty modes: Normal, Hard, and Nightmare. Clearing levels on higher settings can grant extra rewards, such as coins and experience points, making it rewarding to challenge yourself.

There’s also an Endless mode for practicing your strategy against an endless stream of enemies—ideal for testing your hero power and defensive setups without being limited to a specific level structure.

Finally, the game is built to be played offline, so you can enjoy it without needing an internet connection, whether you’re at home or on the move.

Strategies for Winning

Learn Each Tower

You don’t have to memorize hundreds of towers—there are a manageable number, and each one has clear traits and attack range (including how it behaves at level 1). Since turrets unlock gradually, you can focus on remembering the basics of what you’re using now. After that, keep upgrading—start with your most frequently used tower first.

Visit the Workshop to view all towers (including those not yet unlocked). Compare their statistics and AP cost so you can decide which ones fit your play style.

Upgrade Your Turrets

Every tower can be researched and improved. Upgrades typically increase damage, attack speed, and other key performance traits. However, upgrade costs rise over time, so it’s smart to progress gradually and build your resources carefully.

You don’t need to research everything at once—begin with the traits you believe will help you most. Eventually, you’ll unlock them all, but until then you must be able to handle the zombies that are trying to overwhelm you.

Keep Research Going

Upgrading isn’t instant. When you pay the money cost, you’ll also spend time completing the upgrade—this is the game’s Researching period. A strong habit is to always have at least one turret researching, because upgrades take longer as you progress.

To use your time efficiently, prioritize researching your strongest and most commonly used towers first, then move to the next ones you rely on.
