Manual creation

• Create a folder in a suitable directory (use the Skill name as the folder name).
• Add a SKILL.md file inside that folder.
• Optional subfolders:
  • scripts/: stores executable scripts.
  • references/: holds reference documentation.
  • assets/: includes templates or other supporting resources.

Skill storage location (priority order)

• 1st (highest): current project directory: .codex/skills/ (recommended for the current repo)
• 2nd: project root directory: repo_root/.codex/skills/ (shared by the team)
• 3rd: personal global: ~/.codex/skills/ (default)
• 4th (built-in): system built-in skills included with Codex (cannot be overridden)

When two skills share the same name, higher-priority ones overwrite lower-priority ones—making it easy to customize behavior.
