ManaBox Introduction

ManaBox ManaBox is a Magic: The Gathering companion for Android—search cards by keywords, scan and organize your collection, track real-time prices, and build/test decks with legal and value views.

ManaBox

ManaBox is built for players of Magic: The Gathering. Just type in the keywords you’re looking for to quickly pull up relevant card details, see live prices, and review past update history—so you can match the info to your own needs. The app also includes the most popular decks for the current version, lets you create and save your own decks, check the mana curve and deck value, and even build your personal “legendary lineup.”

ManaBox is continuously updated and tuned for the latest MTG versions, helping you access new information whenever and wherever you need it.

Key Features

Build Better Decks

Use a dedicated space to store and collect cards. ManaBox supports building and saving many decks directly in the app, with plenty of room to organize your cards so they fit the decks you’re working on.

Test Your Decks Thoroughly

ManaBox

The app lets you review and update your decks regularly. You’ll find multiple organization categories to rearrange and edit cards freely. Since every card includes its own attributes, you can evaluate them more carefully when refining your lists.

Search Anytime, Anywhere

After you spend some time collecting, you’ll be able to use ManaBox’s search tools to find cards you may have misplaced. For collectors, having a “total deck” ready is a major goal—and the app is designed to help you get there.

Know Current Card Values

ManaBox provides a real-time view of card prices. You can compare costs across major marketplaces, including Cardmarket, TCGplayer, and Card Kingdom. The app also combines these figures to show you updated price lists for cards and full deck totals.

Highlights

  • Fast Card Scanning: Open your camera and scan cards immediately—useful for quick collection management or checking stats on the fly.
  • Deck Building & Analysis: Create and adjust decks using smart tools. Review your mana curve, estimate deck value, and view other helpful stats to fine-tune your lineup.
  • Organized Collections: Sort your MTG collection your way. Use decks and folders to keep even large collections manageable.
  • Deck Simulation: Want to test before game night? Use the built-in simulator to see how your deck performs without shuffling physical cards.
  • Complete Card & Set Information: Get full card details such as rules, legal formats, and set information. The database is kept up to date with the newest releases.

What Users Say

ManaBox

Some players feel the scanner could be more reliable. They report occasional misreads—like detecting a low-priced card as if it were much more expensive—and mention that lighting conditions can affect scanning (too much or too little light can cause the scan to fail). They also mention it can be frustrating when sorting thousands of cards.

Others really like ManaBox for tracking MTG cards and searching by things like keywords, mana value, color, or set. One suggestion is improving sorting for Secret Lairs, since it can be difficult to navigate without prior knowledge of SLD. Overall, they describe the app as an excellent tool (10/10 recommend).

Another reviewer highlights that ManaBox shows leaks for upcoming sets and includes precons, and they love that it contains almost every card. They suggest the deck-building experience could be even better if it took inspiration from moxfield, which is praised for making deck building easier with strong recommendations.

One user gave the app 4 stars for two main reasons: (1) it takes a while to learn how to use everything, even though the features are great; and (2) they wish there were a PC/desktop app included as part of the experience. They note it would be especially helpful for researching and editing decks from a computer. They also say they plan to keep subscribing as long as updates continue.

FAQs

ManaBox

When will the new set be added?

New cards are typically added after the full set spoiler is complete. You can generally expect new cards a few days after that. The app checks automatically for updates, and it also posts notifications on Discord when new cards are available.

Is there a desktop or web app?

Currently, you can use the app with syncing, and this is also an area the team is working on. They plan to release a desktop app for Windows/macOS/Linux rather than a web app.

Is there a lifetime purchase option?

Not at the moment, and there are no plans to add a lifetime option in the near future. Since the app is continuously improved and maintained, ongoing costs are supported through a subscription model.

I don’t want to see digital cards—can I hide them?

Yes. In the Settings screen, under the General section, there’s an option to show or hide digital cards in searches.

Why are double-sided tokens missing from the app?

The app may not currently support certain token formats correctly. Double-sided tokens have different characteristics, and that’s why they can be missing or incomplete in the app.
