The global settings and per-podcast custom settings are excellent, and I haven’t had any issues.

• I’ve been using Podcast Addict for a little over 6 years. I loved it, and recently they added ads. I wanted to leave a positive review because I was genuinely impressed with how the ads are integrated. Many apps implement ads in a way that makes the app harder to use, and I’ve deleted several because of that. Podcast Addict proves it doesn’t have to be that way—the ads don’t get in your way, they don’t hide content, and they don’t block your use of the app.

• I was looking to replace Doggcatcher after a long time, and Podcast Addict covers what I needed with a nicer interface and additional convenience features. I especially like how easy it is to set up “listen from the beginning” auto-downloads. Each setting includes a clear explanation of how it works (and there are a lot of settings). Update 8/2/2025: I was able to subscribe—the author was very helpful. After 6 months, this player is AMAZING. It does everything I wanted, plus features I didn’t even know I’d need.

• One of the features I care about most is the ability to mark previously listened-to episodes as complete in bulk—starting from a specific episode and moving forward or backward in time. I really appreciate that.

• The annoying part about podcasts is that they’re spread across many platforms (Apple here, Spotify there, and so on). That often means installing multiple apps—or using one like Podcast Addict. It brings together the podcasts I was interested in from everywhere, and now I can listen comfortably.
