The Censor
In The Censor, you play as Yuto Fujimoto, a community content moderator who’s trying to survive while managing a stream of user posts. You’ll need to carefully inspect submissions and decide whether to remove them or let them stay—based on how well they follow the rules.
Your choices directly affect your in-game standing: you can earn rewards or face penalties depending on how well you perform. As you progress, you’ll also learn more about the vlogger personalities you encounter, uncovering their quirks and secrets. Build plans that help you earn their attention and unlock animated scenes as the story unfolds.
Will you use your influence to draw in “sexy vloggers” and administrators, or stick to your role as a regular moderator and live quietly? The decision is yours.

Story of The Censor

The Censor drops you into an unnamed authoritarian regime where personal thoughts are monitored and controlled. As a “Censor,” you work for a government department tasked with scanning citizens’ inner minds—then identifying and “redacting” dangerous, subversive memories and desires.
The atmosphere is intentionally bleak. The world is styled in muted grays and subdued colors, with sudden flashes of color used to emphasize emotional moments.
The setting takes cues from Orwellian surveillance states, but adds a sci-fi twist: advanced neuro-interfacing lets agents explore people’s inner thoughts, mixing dreamlike visuals with digital networks. The game aims to create a surreal, immersive world while forcing you to consider the ethical cost of your actions.
Main Characters
- Yuto Fujimoto — an avid otaku who, after graduating, can’t land an engineering job. To cover his expenses, he takes work as a content moderator.
- Misa Hashimoto — the manager of the apartment Yuto lives in. She’s married, but she treats Yuto kindly.
- Yui Takahashi — a member of the idol group “Shining Star”. She’s upbeat and energetic, and Yuto is one of her devoted fans.
- Rika Kamiya — a nun at the church, surrounded by holy light.

Features of The Censor
Content Moderation System
The heart of the gameplay is reviewing and censoring images submitted by community users. You’ll use moderation tools such as:
- blurring
- cropping
- flagging

Every call you make impacts your performance stats, your in-game reputation, and even the larger direction of the world around you. You’re rewarded for making decisions quickly and accurately, but mistakes can trigger penalties—or lead to unexpected outcomes.
Choice-Driven Progression
Your decisions don’t stop at moderation. Dialogue choices with coworkers, bosses, and outside contacts can change alliances and unlock hidden missions. For instance:
- Leaking censored information may expose corruption, but it can also cost you your job.
- Following the rules can lead to promotions and access to restricted data.
Strategy and Customization
Manage key resources—such as energy, time, and influence points—to keep your workflow efficient. You can also upgrade your home office with software tools that improve moderation performance or unlock hacking mini-game options.
These systems add strategic depth, letting you shape how Yuto handles situations—leaning toward stealth, manipulation, or transparency.
Replayability and Secrets
With 10+ possible endings, hidden Easter eggs, and randomized events, no two runs are exactly the same. You can uncover secret content like hacking into government databases or helping spark large-scale movements—though these paths require careful planning and resource management.
Modern Relevance
The game’s themes connect with real-world discussions about technology ethics, making it entertaining while also pushing you to think. Its mix of simulation, strategy, and narrative stands out among indie titles. If you like games such as Papers, Please or Orwell, you may enjoy this one for its deeper customization and moral complexity.
Strengths of The Censor
Part Simulation. Part RPG
Wrapped in nostalgic pixel visuals and sharpened with dark satire, The Censor blends interactive storytelling with adult-oriented comedy and high-impact choices. You’ll deal with trolls, bots, influencers, and digital scandals—moving through a shifting maze of events with each decision.
Your Choices Rewrite the Feed
Delete or approve. Defend or expose. Everything you do feeds into a branching story full of emotional twists, dark humor, and alternative endings that reflect your moral choices—or your refusal to care.
30+ Characters. Endless Drama
Form relationships or burn them with a lineup of unforgettable NPCs. Each character brings their own background, secrets, and breaking points. The question is simple: who can you trust when everyone is watching and posting?

Pixelated, But NSFW
Don’t let the retro 16-bit look fool you. The game goes all-in, featuring 60+ animated scenes and hundreds of variations. Visuals respond to your decisions and show just how far the rabbit hole goes.
Mini-Games, Mega Consequences
Between intense story moments, you can unwind with oddball mini-games—quick, fun, and strangely satisfying, like a break between existential crises.
Global Chaos, Localized
Play in English, Japanese, Simplified/Traditional Chinese, or Korean. Moderation may be universal, but your route through the story is uniquely yours.
