Call of Duty: Warzone Introduction
Call of Duty: Warzone Call of Duty Warzone is a fast first-person battle royale on mobile. Choose Solo or squads up to four, loot gear, beat the shrinking safe zone, and fight for top leaderboard rewards.
Call of Duty: Warzone
Call of Duty: Warzone is a first-person action shooter that lets you drop in solo or team up with friends in squads of two to four. Take part in intense battle royale fights against hundreds of other players on a single sprawling map. Throughout each match, you’ll scavenge for weapons, ammunition, and medical supplies, then push through the pressure of a constantly shrinking safe area.
To win, you must eliminate opposing players and outlast everyone else to become the last survivor. You’ll also earn rewards and compete on the leaderboard. With multiple game modes and different map situations, success often depends on knowing the terrain and working efficiently with your squad.
The game receives continuous updates, including seasonal events, character skins, and limited-time activities designed to keep the experience fresh.
Gameplay
Warzone Mobile is a mobile battle royale FPS that follows the same overall feel as the original Warzone and its 2022 follow-up. It features two main modes:

- Battle Royale
- Resurgence
Match sizes and squad options
Both modes support squad lobby types based on squad size:
- Solo (1 player)
- Duos (2 players)
- Trios (3 players)
- Quads (4 players)

Player counts per lobby:
- Battle Royale: up to 120 players
- Resurgence: up to 48 players

How survival works
To stay alive, players must either collect gear and supplies from others or hold their ground inside the safe zone. That safe zone shrinks as an expanding toxic gas closes in. The win condition is simple: the last individual or team standing takes the match.
Gulag and respawns
When a player is eliminated in standard Battle Royale-style play, they’re moved to the Gulag. If they win their Gulag fight against another eliminated player, they can be redeployed back into the match.
- Resurgence modes: the Gulag is not present. Instead, players can respawn after a timer, as long as there’s at least one teammate still alive.
- Solo play: you may need to wait for the respawn timer to finish before returning.
Both the Gulag and Resurgence systems remain active until a set point in the match—after that, players can’t respawn unless a teammate buys them back.
Season 3: Plunder reintroduced
During the Modern Warfare III Season 3 content update, Warzone Mobile brought back Plunder. In Plunder, 84 players compete in a match where the goal is to earn the most in-match cash within 15 minutes. The first team to reach 2 million cash triggers overtime, and every cash amount earned from then on counts as double.
Unlike Battle Royale and Resurgence:
- Players can get free respawns
- Standard loadouts are available upon spawn
Classic Call of Duty multiplayer
The game also includes traditional Call of Duty multiplayer modes, including:
- Domination
- Kill Confirmed
- Search & Destroy
- Team Deathmatch
These modes are available across selected maps such as Shipment, Shoot House, and Scrapyard.
Free-to-play: Warzone Mobile is free to download and play, with microtransactions synced between it and the mainline Call of Duty games. The game also added controller support at launch.
Features

Battle Royale and Resurgence on mobile
Warzone Mobile drops you into high-stakes lobbies where squads coordinate, redeploy, and fight to become the last team standing. The faster pace rewards quick choices and strong map awareness, with full matches against real opponents.
Classic COD Multiplayer for quicker PvP
If you want shorter matches, you can jump into traditional Multiplayer. Smaller, well-known maps deliver tight firefights that are easy to learn—perfect for warming up before a longer Battle Royale session.
Omnimovement and mobile-first controls
Warzone Mobile includes omnimovement featuring Omni Sprint, Slide, and Dive, helping you smoothly change direction and maintain momentum. A touchscreen-friendly aiming system and customizable HUD layouts make it easier to track targets and manage gear without extra accessories.
Shared progression across supported platforms
Built using unified Call of Duty technology, Warzone Mobile supports select cross-progression. If you sign into the same Activision account, eligible weapons, Operators, and Battle Pass XP can carry between mobile and supported PC or console versions.
Realistic visuals with performance options
The game aims to balance visual quality and frame rate for mobile devices. You can adjust settings to prioritize either clarity or smooth performance, helping you stay responsive during chaotic firefights.
Useful Tips
Plan for the final circles
As the match winds down, the play area shrinks and fights become unavoidable. Holding near the edge of the gas circle can be a smart move—often letting you push in at the right moment and surprise enemies. Just remember: staying close also increases the chance you’ll get caught by the gas. If you’re in a squad, coordinate with teammates by sharing supplies, covering different angles, and moving together to improve your odds of winning.
Use sound to your advantage
Audio cues matter a lot in Warzone Mobile. Footsteps, gunfire, reload sounds, and enemy callouts can all reveal where opponents are. Pay attention to what you hear so you can react faster and position more intelligently.
