Cuphead Mobile
Cuphead Mobile is a fan-favorite side-scrolling action shooter that puts you in control of the adorable Cuphead as you explore a whimsical fantasy world. Along the way, you’ll face a parade of powerful bosses. Study their patterns, then switch weapons to exploit their weak spots. Keep dodging their attacks while firing nonstop, and use devastating special moves at the right moment to bring each fight to an end—so you can press forward and earn plenty of rewards.
The game also includes lots of mods to discover. You can even create your own mods and share them with the community to win likes from other players.

Game Modes in Cuphead Mobile

Cuphead Expert Mode
Cuphead Expert Mode is the hardest difficulty available. It becomes available after you finish the game on Regular Mode. Expect bosses with more health, extra enemies, and changed attack behaviors. Beating bosses on Expert Mode grants S-Ranks, along with special gold results or S-marked flags.
In The Delicious Last Course, Expert Mode unlocks only after defeating all DLC bosses on Regular difficulty.
Cuphead Two-Strip Mode
Cuphead Two-Strip Mode is a color filter inspired by early Technicolor animation. It alters how colors appear, which can make parryable objects harder to identify. Unlock it by defeating 15 bosses on Regular Mode with an A-rank or higher, then speaking to Silverworth on Inkwell Isle Three.
Cuphead Black & White Mode
In Black & White Mode, the game removes all color to mimic classic early black-and-white cartoons. Because visual hints are much harder to read, fights become noticeably tougher. To unlock it, complete all Run ’n Gun levels without defeating any enemies, earn a “P” rank, and then talk to Tully.
Cuphead Vintage Mode
Vintage Mode adds an old-school sound filter, including echo and distortion reminiscent of vintage cartoon audio. It unlocks automatically once you gain access to any video filter.
Cuphead Chalice Mode
Cuphead Chalice Mode changes Ms. Chalice to a golden-white look. Unlock it by defeating every boss in the game while playing as Ms. Chalice—this includes DLC bosses—and using the Astral Cookie. After you complete the challenge, speaking to Senita grants an additional option.
Key Features of Cuphead Mobile

- Epic Boss Battles: Missions introduce a wide variety of distinct battle scenes. Each mission gives you room to show off your shooting style while you complete assigned objectives.
- Local Co-op Play: Team up with teammates in a comfortable, coordinated setup. A group can work together with 2 or more players to plan effective combat tactics and clear opponents quickly.
- Cooperative Gameplay: Strong teamwork matters. Coordinate with your group, brainstorm strategies, then use a shared plan to defeat enemies more efficiently. You can also set traps to lure foes into trouble.
- Complex and Transforming Bosses: Expect multiple battle stages and well-designed boss setups that can make fights feel like you’re lost in a chaotic war zone.
- Extremely Satisfying Victories: Finish your mission to receive valuable rewards. Taking down scary, relentless enemies is incredibly rewarding.
- Revive Downed Teammates: You can revive and recharge friends. When allies are close to collapsing—or being overwhelmed by enemies—you can use your abilities to bring them back.

Strategies for Cuphead Mobile
- Don’t buy “Health Up” upgrades: Increasing health can weaken your attacks, so it may not be worth spending your money.
- Don’t skip Run ’n Gun levels: You can advance by defeating bosses, but side-scrolling Run ’n Gun stages let you collect five coins per level (two levels per world). Use those coins at Porkrind’s Emporium to buy new guns and skills known as charms.
- No-kill Run ’n Gun challenge: In the six non-boss levels, you don’t need to kill anything. You can pass through each stage without firing—though Smoke Bomb makes it easier. Clearing all 6 Run & Gun levels unlocks a special olde tymey mode.
- Equip two guns: You start with the “peashooter.” After spending coins at Porkrind’s Emporium, press Y on the Xbox controller on the map screen to adjust your loadout. If a boss is giving you trouble, experiment with different weapon combinations.
- Map your gun to a trigger: Assigning your shooting to a trigger can give you more freedom to jump and press other face buttons without interrupting your fire stream.
- Spend those coins: At Porkrind’s Emporium, you can choose from six guns with different power, range, and speed—then enhance them with charms that grant perks like an invincibility dodge or extra hearts.

Comment: “Gameplay-wise, it reminds me a lot of 8- and 16-bit era platformers like Contra and Super …”
