Altos Odyssey is a desert adventure game where you ride alongside memorable companions through long-forgotten, magical regions—think dunes, canyons, and ancient temples. To survive the harsh terrain and uncover the desert’s secrets, you’ll need to make smart use of environmental tools like vines and hot air balloons as you push through dangerous stretches.

Every character brings their own special abilities. As you clear levels, new skills unlock—so planning which rider to use can make progress much easier. If you want a calmer experience, some modes (such as Meditation) and Photo Mode let you slow down, get creative, and share screenshots with friends.

Characters in Altos Odyssey

• Alto: The default rider—solid at everything, with no clear standout specialty.
• Maya (Unlocks at Level 11): A lightning-fast backflipper. Tip: switch to her as soon as she unlocks, and stick with her at least until you unlock Izel. After that, experiment with both to see who fits your style.
• Paz (Unlocks at Level 21): Slower overall, and his flips take longer. If you’re not into that pace, use him only when you need a character-specific objective—then switch back.
• Izel (Unlocks at Level 31): Extremely fast, with a backflip that’s just a bit slower than Maya’s. You may need a short adjustment period if you’ve been playing mostly with Maya, but he’s great for covering distance quickly and escaping lemurs.
• Felipe (Unlocks at Level 41): The game’s only llama. Double-tap to double-jump. He’s one of the best picks for tight situations—Felipe has helped players avoid close calls near chasms. If speed or height is giving you trouble, he can help you clear those gaps. He’s also useful for staying slightly above a Lemur when one is chasing you.
• Sumara (Unlocks at Level 51): Backflips quickly like Maya, but also has double-jump ability like Felipe. Lemurs don’t bother her.
