Start as a scientist aboard a spaceship, beginning with a familiar—yet harsh—world: Mars. Mars is extremely barren, and its conditions are not suitable for human life at first. With science and technology, you gradually transform Mars into a planet with the environmental and climatic conditions people need.

For humans to live, the environment must match Earth in key ways. Your mission is to construct systems that control the planet’s temperature, pressure, and air, as well as water sources. These systems continue working even when you turn off the game—so keep an eye on their status and dismantle or adjust buildings before conditions deteriorate too far.

Improving the environment isn’t enough—you also need to grow the population. A beautiful planet with no residents isn’t much use. Every city requires a manager, but they don’t arrive automatically; you must recruit managers from Earth. Each manager brings different strengths, and choosing the right staff helps your city thrive.
