Muv-Luv is a story-focused casual game that lets you enjoy a slice-of-life school experience as a student. Everything changes when a sudden incident pulls you into a distant future—right into the middle of a war against the Origin Species BETA.

As the conflict escalates, you’ll train and fight alongside a lineup of striking girls, each with their own personality. Expect encounters with many enemy types, plus moments that deepen your relationships. Throughout the story, major events unfold with your companions, and your decisions can affect how you push back against the war.

You’ll also get closer through private conversations and intimate interactions as the narrative progresses. In the end, the question is simple: will you return to your original world by yourself, or choose a new life together with the girls?

Characters in Muv-Luv

Most of the key cast from the Extra timeline appears again in Unlimited. However, there are notable differences: Shirogane Takeru from the Unlimited world is considered dead, and Kagami Sumika doesn’t seem to exist in Unlimited. The characters generally resemble their Extra counterparts, with one exception: Mikoto is now female. Unlimited also adds a major new character who wasn’t present in Extra: Yashiro Kasumi.

Main Characters

• Shirogane Takeru: The Takeru from the Extra timeline. He wakes up in a Unlimited world and joins Unit 207. Even though he’s brand new to it all and isn’t great at military discipline or weapons, he shows exceptional talent with piloting TSFs.
• Mitsurugi Meiya: A cadet in Unit 207. Like the other students, she works hard to graduate quickly so she can join the fight—though her drive comes from something she refuses to explain.
• Tamase Miki: Initially a cadet in Unit 207, later a pilot in Squad A-01. She specializes in sniping.
• Ayamine Kei: A cadet in Unit 207, later also a pilot in Squad A-01. She’s still strange in her own way and constantly clashes with Chizuru.
• Sakaki Chizuru: A cadet and later squad leader in Unit 207, then a pilot in Squad A-01. She remains in conflict with Kei.
• Yoroi Mikoto: A cadet in Unit 207, later a pilot in Squad A-01. She’s skilled at survival and spotting traps.
• Kouzuki Yuuko: Vice-commander of the Yokohama base.
• Yashiro Kasumi: A mysterious girl you can find in a specific room on Floor B-19 of the Yokohama base, a room that contains a brain in a cylinder.

Side Characters

• Jinguuji Marimo: Instructor of Unit 207 and Yuuko’s close friend.
• Tsukuyomi Mana: First Lieutenant in the Imperial Royal Guard. She cares deeply for Meiya and does everything she can to support her.
• Tomoe Yukino: Second Lieutenant in the Imperial Royal Guard. One of three soldiers under First Lieutenant Mana (with Ebisu and Tatsumi). She and the others are very protective of Meiya and suspicious of Takeru’s involvement with her.
• Ebisu Minagi: Second Lieutenant in the Imperial Royal Guard, also one of Mana’s three soldiers (with Yukino and Tatsumi). Protective of Meiya and wary of Takeru.
• Kamiyo Tatsumi: Second Lieutenant in the Imperial Royal Guard, completing the trio of Mana’s soldiers (with Yukino and Ebisu). Protective of Meiya and suspicious of Takeru.
• Tamase Genjousai: Under-secretary-general of the United Nations and Miki’s father.
• Paul Radhabinod: Commander of the Yokohama base.
• Irina Pyatkh: Communications officer at the Yokohama base and Kouzuki’s secretary. Holds the rank of First Lieutenant.
