Follow the trails

When you use your boost, you leave a trail of orbs behind you. Following orb trails can be helpful—especially early on—because it quickly leads you to more orbs and may even point you toward other snakes.

If you’re chasing the end of a huge snake, they’ll eventually drop orbs as they move, and you’ll also be in a strong position in case they get knocked down.

Protect your bounty

Whether you earned the orbs yourself or found a jackpot, don’t just drive straight through it. That kind of route can leave you exposed to players coming from the opposite direction.

A safer plan is to use your body to form a quick barrier around the orbs, then circle back to collect them. You may grab fewer orbs than a full boost-through, but it’s more secure—and it can even trick reckless boosters into charging straight into you, giving you even more orbs.

Chase the “floaties”

As you get more familiar with Slither.io, you’ll notice some glowing orbs don’t just sit there—they move. They’ll try to escape, so you’ll need to use your boost to catch them.

• If the big snake is far behind (and gets taken down): head toward the tail first. Since snakes get cut off at the head, you can expect other players trying to claim the orbs from the front—so moving toward the tail first is often safer. Then you can double back to check for other opportunities.
