Meet the Characters

Qiu Lin

Qiu is from Jinshulin and is the most popular child in town—until that attention starts to weigh on him. He begins to withdraw, keeping to himself except around a few people. Eventually, though, the rain clears, and genuine love brings healing. One day, Qiu shines again—brighter than before.

In “Autumn”, you’ll meet a sensitive person who only needs time to accept the self he has always believed he is. Qiu was born male, but midway through the story he reveals his gender fluidity (they/he).

Tamalak Bowman

Tamalak is new as well—she moves in about a week before you. She’s incredibly kind and outgoing, and people around her tend to feel joyful too. Like the forest she loves, Tamalak is always changing, both in big ways and small.

But not every change leads to something good. Harmful branches surround her and push her toward paths that only hurt. Still, even with the thorns along the way, her heart remains steady.

Tamalak is a gentle woman who has a lot left to learn about herself, yet she never stops trying to find her way. Tamalak uses only the pronoun she/her.
