• I loved it—it brought back serious nostalgia. That said, I ran into some issues: earning gold for higher-level armor feels like a grind, weapon balance seems off (swords are too strong), and some parts of the battleground can be used to “cheese” fights with enough strength. A few new skills also feel close to useless, and there are some battle glitches. Still, overall, I really enjoyed it.
• I’m a big fan of the series and found this game fun and nostalgic, but the bugs can hurt the experience. Sometimes defeated enemies just stand there, the character doesn’t perform the victory dance, and other times the game won’t even let you attack—bubbles may not show up at all. Beyond those bugs, I like the game.
• I’m not sure if anyone’s mentioned the “grind between tournaments,” but when you played the full version from a sketchy website back in 2007, leaving the tab open for two weeks didn’t exactly feel fun. Flash is basically gone now, so it’s almost impossible to do this anymore. I do enjoy the SAS3-style graphics and overall look, and having difficulty options (easier or harder) is a nice touch.
