Pocket Rogues Introduction

Pocket Rogues Dive into Pocket Rogues, a top-down roguelite RPG where you fight traps and enemies in randomly generated dungeons. Choose distinct hero classes, master real-time combat, and team up in multiplayer.

Pocket Rogues

Pocket Rogues

Pocket Rogues is a first-person, top-down action RPG where you step into deadly dungeons that no one survives. Your mission is straightforward: prove you can push deep into the dungeon and come back alive. Along the way, you’ll face plenty of foes, traps, and other dangers designed to stop you.

Pocket Rogues

The game uses simple touch controls split across the screen. Move using the left side, and handle combat with the right side using attack and defense actions. Different heroes bring different abilities and damage styles. You can also tweak the look and the controls to better match your preferred play feel.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Pocket Rogues

Pros

  • Fast, lively gameplay: no waiting around—move, dodge, and fight in real time.
  • Pocket Rogues

  • Hero variety with distinct classes: pick from multiple classes, each with its own skill set, progression paths, and specialized equipment.
  • High replay value: dungeons are randomly generated, so runs don’t repeat the same way.
  • Pocket Rogues

  • Dangerous, interesting dungeon design: explore rooms packed with traps, special enemies, and interactive elements.
  • Guild Fortress building: construct and upgrade your Guild Fortress to unlock new classes, strengthen abilities, and improve how the game plays.
  • Multiplayer support: team up with up to 3 players and explore dungeons together.

Cons

  • Difficulty may be too steep for some players.
  • Runs can feel repetitive over time.

Highlights of Pocket Rogues

Pocket Rogues is a roguelite with a top-down view. You control an adventurer who must descend into a treacherous dungeon from which nobody has returned. The goal is simple—survive the descent, reach the depths, and return safely—though hundreds of enemies and traps will do everything they can to ruin that plan.

Simple touch controls

Pocket Rogues

On the left you’ll use the virtual movement control. On the right you’ll find your action buttons.

  • Warrior: two attack options (standard and powerful) plus a shield button for defense.
  • Mage: two offensive spell buttons and one defensive ability button.

Choose your class at the start

Pocket Rogues

When you begin a new run, you can select one of three character classes: Warrior, Mage, or Archer. Each class plays differently—so your approach and tactics will change depending on who you pick.

  • Warrior: focus on charging into enemies quickly.
  • Mage: keep enemies from getting too close—play defensively and control space.

Progress, loot, and unlock new options

As you move through each run, you’ll advance, collect coins, and unlock more content back at your base. New unlocks can include:

  • Additional skills you can equip on your heroes.
  • New character classes, each with their own abilities and gameplay feel.

Procedural dungeons every run

Like other roguelites, Pocket Rogues uses procedural generation. That means every dungeon layout is different, so you won’t experience the same run twice. Each new level brings new threats and surprises, and with so many enemy types, you can’t predict what you’ll encounter on the next descent.

Android configuration and customization

Pocket Rogues is known for being highly customizable. You can adjust the resolution, modify controls, toggle over a dozen gameplay options, and even choose the camera type you want—offering a setup depth that stands out compared to many mobile titles.

User Reviews of Pocket Rogues

  • 1. “Fun game. The controls are unique. Some stuff can’t be accessed freely though. It’s pretty slow grinding for gems just for the upgrades. I hope the devs add more things that help with that. Overall, the gameplay is unique. Enemies and bosses too—they’re amazing. The items and UI are also pretty neat. It’s an amazing game once you learn how to evade and use skills wisely. I hope someday they add a ‘Werewolf’ type of character with a unique skill set, transforming mid-fight.”
  • 2. “So far, so fun. It kinda feels like GTA2 with better controls and strafe targeting, but it does take a bit to get used to. It starts off pretty difficult, but if you push through and work at your class, it really opens up. Each ‘run’ is well-paced and a fun adventure. I beat my first two bosses recently and think I made it past the fourth floor. First time I reached a camp with a mentor—it lets you leave alive and sell items. Finally, some class distinction and a more mage-like vibe.”
  • 3. “Fun pixel roguelite, pretty cool concept and I like the design and feel. Honestly, besides the slow grinding, you can play it for free just fine without the ultimate version. However, as much as I’d like…”
