Gameplay

Princess Tale

After finishing the Princess Tale tutorial, you’ll be thrown into the real battles. You’ll place your chosen characters into different squad positions. The maximum number of characters you can control is five, and it’s important to assign roles according to each character’s traits. Once the fight begins, changing positions won’t have much of an impact.

When the battle starts, the characters you brought will march toward the enemy. How far they move depends on each character’s attack type and the enemy’s resistance. You don’t need to manage all five at once, because your characters will automatically keep moving and attacking until the match is decided.

The battle ends only when one side is fully defeated, so overall power is usually the deciding factor.

Your character portraits remain easy to spot. You can build up health and mana using the combat system, and even basic attacks help increase mana. Once mana is filled, the portrait becomes fully empowered—then you can tap the portrait to trigger a character’s ultimate skill, such as attacking enemies or supporting teammates. Coordinating your characters well also helps your team last longer.

Strategies

Princess Tale

  • There are currently 41 characters to collect. Normal heroes begin at B, and elite heroes begin at A. Normal heroes can be advanced up to S+, while elite heroes can be upgraded all the way to SSS.

Elite characters are naturally harder to obtain through gacha. While there are other ways to get new characters, the Tavern is your main place to recruit them.

  • If you’re new to strategy RPGs or gacha systems, you should learn about rerolling. Since gacha results are largely luck-based, rerolling is a common method used to secure the best early pulls.

Starting with better characters can help not only in the early game, but also through mid-game and into late-game.

  • You’ll begin with three normal characters. If you can obtain one or more elite types early, it gives your roster a strong advantage. Just remember that you can’t upgrade everyone evenly—choose wisely which heroes to invest in.
  • Even though you can reset units and recover what you put into them, it costs star (a premium currency), which is better spent elsewhere. Because of that, redoing your early pulls is often a practical way to start with stronger options.
  • To start rerolling, begin on a guest account. This ensures your progress isn’t tied to a Google or Facebook login yet. After you complete the tutorial, collect available event rewards and developer gifts from your mail.
  • Also be sure to grab any coupon code rewards for extra stars. Open the menu by tapping your avatar in the upper-left corner, then go to the System tab on the bottom-left side of the screen to use the coupons.
