Super Mariyo Bros Introduction

Super Mariyo Bros Super Mariyo Bros is an action-adventure platformer for Android with offline play and multiplayer for up to four. Master jumps, explore hidden mechanics, and beat classic enemies through eight worlds.

Super Mariyo Bros

Super Mariyo Bros is a well-known action-adventure game with an offline mode, so you can team up with friends and jump into adventures whenever you want. Take control of Mariyo, push through each stage, and finish the course using clean movement, multi-jumps, and smart item usage to claim victory.

Every level hides special secrets and gameplay twists. These hidden systems can even change how the environment behaves, making exploration feel rewarding and exciting.

There’s also multiplayer support for up to four players. Gather together, communicate using voice, and enjoy a shared adventure.

Gameplay Overview

The game is organized into eight worlds, and each world contains four levels. In each stage, Mariyo’s goal is simple: reach the end by jumping over gaps and avoiding enemies.

  • Mariyo can use platforms—some will collapse when he lands on them.
  • You’ll find stairs and jump boards to help you navigate tricky routes.
  • Along the way, there are pipes. Some let Mariyo enter for secret coin rooms, then return him to the main path further ahead.

Enemies and How to Handle Them

You’ll face a variety of foes, including Little Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Buzzy Beetles, Koopa Paratroopas, Bullet Bills, Hammer Brothers, and Cheep-cheeps that leap.

  • Most enemies can be defeated when Mariyo jumps on them.
  • Super Mariyo Bros

  • Koopa Troopas and Buzzy Beetles retreat into their shells when stomped. Mariyo can then kick the shell to take out other enemies.
  • Koopa Paratroopas lose their wings and drop to the ground if Mariyo jumps on them.
  • Other hazards include Piranha Plants and the Lakitus that throw projectiles. For these, you’ll either need to shoot fireballs or avoid them.

Underwater Stages

Two levels in the game take place underwater. Here, Mariyo can swim freely from the top to the bottom of the screen.

  • Underwater enemies include Bloobers and Cheep-cheeps.
  • These creatures can only be defeated by shooting fireballs.

Lives, Losing a Run, and Checkpoints

If regular Mariyo takes damage, falls into a pit, or the Time Limit runs out, you’ll lose a life and the stage restarts. Where you resume depends on how far you got:

  • Restart from the beginning, or
  • Resume from one of the game’s invisible checkpoints spread throughout the level.

After a Game Over, pressing the button while holding on the title screen lets you continue from the start of the world.

In a 2-player game, if the player who got the second Game Over triggers this continue option, then both players restart in the same world—the world where the second player’s run ended.

Power-Ups from Blocks

Special items can be found inside ? blocks and, less commonly, bricks. Most of the ? blocks are visible, but some are hidden and only appear after Mariyo hits them from below.

  • Magic Mushroom: turns Mariyo into Super Mariyo. As Super Mariyo, he can take one extra enemy hit, but then reverts to regular Mariyo.
  • Super Mariyo can also break empty bricks by jumping into them from below.
  • Fire Flower: transforms him into Fiery Mariyo, letting him shoot fireballs to defeat enemies from a distance.
  • 1 up Mushroom: grants an extra life. You can also earn an extra life by collecting 100 coins.
  • Starman: found only in bricks. It makes Mariyo invincible for a short time—touching enemies defeats them.

Except for coins, only one item can be on screen at a time. When a new item appears, the previous one disappears.

Finishing a Level

Each level ends with a castle and a nearby flagpole. When Mariyo reaches the pole, he removes the enemy flag and enters the castle to complete the stage.

The higher Mariyo hits the flagpole, the more points he earns.

In a two-player match, Luigi’s turn begins whenever Mariyo loses a life. Luigi has no different abilities from Mariyo.

Castle Levels and Final Bosses

The fourth level of each world is set inside a castle, typically packed with Fire-Bars and Podoboos.

Castle endings work differently by world:

  • In Worlds 1–7, Mariyo faces a false Bowser.
  • In World 8, the boss is the real Bowser.

Normally, Mariyo can’t hurt these bosses directly. Instead, he must:

  • Use an ax to break the bridge—so the false or real Bowser falls into the lava, or
  • Hit the boss with many fireballs, producing the same result and revealing the true form.
  • Super Mariyo Bros

After defeating an impostor, Mariyo frees one of the remaining mushroom retainers from the castle. They deliver the well-known line: “Thank you, Mario! But our princess is in another castle!”

At the end of the World 8 castle, Mariyo rescues Princess Toadstool and finishes the adventure. He’s then offered the option to begin a new quest.

In the second quest, you choose a world and replay levels. However, all Little Goombas are replaced with Buzzy Beetles, and many ground enemies are much faster—making the replay more challenging.
