1) Will a pensioner have the choice to not switch to SPARSH and continue receiving pension through bank CPPCs?

According to instructions shared by Hon’ble RM and Defence Secretary during the review of SPARSH on 04 Mar 22 and 11 Mar 22, CGDA must take non-consent from a pensioner in writing for those pensioners who want to keep the older system.

If a pensioner does not wish to migrate, the pension will be processed using the legacy system only. However, it is strongly recommended that all pensioners move to SPARSH, since a digital platform offers better transparency of your pension account and faster processing of your requests—resulting in a more paperless, hassle-free experience. Pensioners who remain on the legacy setup through banks may experience less effective service support because most efforts will shift to the new platform.

2) What is CGDA doing to stop fraud—so that no one can hack my account and divert my pension?

The overall process works like a secure digital banking transaction. Access is protected through an OTP that is generated only for the registered mobile number and email ID linked to your account. If normal online transaction safety practices are followed, this risk should not occur.

Your SPARSH account is connected to your pension bank account—the same account where you already receive pension payments—and your KYC is completed there. To stay safe, pensioners should never share their Login ID, password, or OTP with anyone unauthorized. Only then can others access your account.

3) How will CDA ensure correct pension migration from banks to PCDA (P), Allahabad so my pension isn’t incorrectly reduced or stopped? What if it happens?

CGDA, through PCDA (P), performs due diligence during the migration from the banks’ legacy pension payment method to SPARSH. Before onboarding you to SPARSH, PCDA (P) maps and matches the data in consultation with the bank where the pension is currently being received, and cross-checks it against data maintained by the relevant Pension Sanctioning Authority.
