Always On Edge Introduction
Always On Edge Always On Edge is an Android customization app that lights the screen edges like built-in LEDs. Configure fixed, moving or blinking effects, gradients up to 3 colors, and brightness animations per notification.
Always On Edge
Always On Edge is an Android customization app that brings life to the sides of your screen. It can light up the edge LEDs to show notifications, and it can also act as decoration even when notifications aren’t coming in.
The app keeps things straightforward. In the settings, you choose how the edge lighting should behave: do you want it steady, moving around the display, or blinking? You can also control the edge LED that normally lights up for notifications—either turning it off or changing how it glows.
You can further limit the effect so that only the area near the camera lights up. And if you want a more dramatic look, you can turn on LEDs for a specific color and build gradients using up to three colors. Those colors appear along the outside border of your screen—so in short, you can configure the LEDs to match nearly any style you want.
On top of that, Always On Edge can sync the edge brightness animation to the type of alert you receive. For example, it can glow differently for a Telegram message, a Twitter message, or a missed call.
About Always On Edge
Always On Edge (AOE) is designed as an alternative to the physical edge LED found on some phone models. Its main purpose is to illuminate the phone edges as a signal for incoming messages, calls, and other reminders.
Beyond notifications, the app can be used for many other events such as fully charged, screen lock/unlock, headset plugged/unplugged, and more.

Customization options
- Choose lighting color, style, and effects.
- Enable a single color or create gradients with up to three colors.
- Set different lighting setups for different events and even for different apps, so you can tell whether it’s a call, chat, or another notification.
- Adjust edge lighting brightness (high or low) to fit your preferences.
- Select how the light behaves: fixed, moving, or blinking.

Note: getting exactly the effect you want usually takes some experimenting. The basic settings menu makes it easy to start, but deeper customization involves going through multiple options. Many features are free, though some require watching ads first. Also, since it uses lighting effects, it can drain battery faster.
Features

License to use
Before you can use Always On Edge, the app asks for device access to work at its best. The licensing step is simple: you just tap the on-screen content to begin right away. This helps the app apply lighting effects that match your preferences. The requested access is described as safe and does not compromise device security.

Customize the light
Once access is granted, you can customize the available settings from the main screen. Common options include receiving notifications with matching LED effects, and changing the edge color during charging. Don’t overlook the screen border effects—they’re meant to make your device look more striking than usual. The app also provides a wide range of color choices.
Smart timer feature
Because continuous edge lighting can increase battery usage, Always On Edge includes a custom timer so the display doesn’t have to stay lit nonstop. You can set how long the effect runs, and you can also switch brightness between high and low depending on what you need.

Customize the clock shape on the lock screen
Many Android manufacturers include Always On Display, which lets you check notifications without unlocking your phone. Always On Edge expands that idea with extra customization. You can adjust multiple parameters, including style, size, time zone, language, color, and more. The settings are designed to be easy to apply.
Compatible with many Android devices
Always On Edge is built to work on a broad range of Android phones. It supports glow in different screen states—such as off or on, and both landscape or portrait. It can also work with curved-screen models.
It’s noted to support Samsung models including S8, S9, S10, S21, and S22.
