Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Introduction
Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition Rayman Legends Definitive Edition is a vivid side-scrolling platformer with solo and co-op fun. Leap, dodge, fight bosses, and chase secrets in new scroll worlds.
Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition

Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition is a side-scrolling platform adventure where you and your allies travel through a strange new world full of surprises. You can play solo or team up in multiplayer co-op as you bounce through a variety of environments, taking on different enemies while searching for clues hidden in mysterious scrolls.
Can you make it out of this otherworldly place? Invite friends to race, compete, and take on tougher challenges together—then put your skills and battle tactics to the test against powerful bosses. If you’re looking to prove yourself, you can also climb the leaderboard and compare your results with other players.
The game receives ongoing updates that add more scroll-based worlds, new characters, additional puzzles, and fresh music—keeping the challenges coming.
Gameplay
At its core, the gameplay follows classic platform fundamentals: running, jumping, dodging, and fighting. What makes it feel so good is how smoothly these actions blend together. There aren’t complicated systems to learn—no sprawling skill trees, no heavy stat management. The real difficulty is timing your movements perfectly.
Jump too soon and you’ll drop short. Jump too late and you might slam into a trap.
Challenge That Changes From Level to Level
The game stays engaging because not every stage plays the same way. Some levels push you to keep moving without pause and react quickly. Others slow you down and ask you to watch for obstacles, plan your route, and move with intention. There’s no universal “right” approach—each level acts like a fresh test.

It’s not “hardcore” in an unforgiving way. You’re encouraged to learn through trial and error. If you fail, try again—without the pressure of a long, punishing reset.
Fast Respawns
When you lose, you respawn almost immediately with no long loading screens. This makes it easier to take risks, experiment with your timing, and attempt difficult sections without worrying about wasting a lot of time.
Useful Tips
Find Your Rhythm
When you begin a new level, you don’t need time to memorize layouts. The level design helps players flow naturally from one part of the stage to the next. As soon as the level starts, start running right away and get accustomed to the pace.

Since the game is built around speed, trust that the stage layout is guiding you. Hazards and obstacles are placed to steer your route—so pay attention to where they appear.
Combat Isn’t the Main Focus
While combat exists in Rayman games, it plays a smaller role in Rayman Legends. Characters have access to three attacks: a quick strike, a charged hit, and jumping on enemies. Even with enemies and boss fights present, many levels don’t require you to fight constantly.
Often, you can ignore and avoid most enemies, only striking the ones blocking your path. The charged hit is rarely worth using because it slows you down—so don’t worry about it too much.
Hover—But Only When It Matters
Hovering is one of Rayman’s more unusual abilities. By holding the jump button, your character slows their descent, making landings safer and helping you cross bigger gaps.

However, hovering also reduces your speed and leaves you exposed. Don’t rely on it for long stretches. Use it only when necessary, and otherwise alternate between short hovering moments and sharp falls to keep your momentum.
Don’t Linger
Rayman Legends isn’t built around wandering or exploration—it’s about timing and rhythm. Most stages are designed so you should move through them with little to no stopping.
Even if there are safe spots, pausing can break your flow. Take a short break only if you truly need it. Many levels also include threats that chase you for large portions of the stage, so practice staying in motion and finding comfort in constant movement.
Player Comments
“Over twenty years ago I played the Rayman games as a kid. More than ten years ago, my brother and I went through Origins and Legends together. Now I’ve returned—this time playing with my two children. A timeless masterpiece, wonderful in every way. Thank you, Michel Ancel.”
“Rayman Legends is a fantastic 2D platformer with lots of fun and really well-made levels. The unique painterly art style helps match the game’s fast pace. The music levels at the end of each world are also a blast to play. That said, I feel Legends can overshadow its prequel, Origins, a bit too much—I generally prefer Origins because the flow feels better. Legends also seems to hold your hand a little too often, slowing stages down to fit mistakes, and once you notice that, it’s harder to feel satisfied after clearing a stage. This is especially true for the music sections too.”
“Legends is an easy game to recommend—just don’t aim for 100%, or the 1,000,000.”
