BALL x PIT Introduction
BALL x PIT Dive into BALL x PIT, a roguelite adventure blending base building and ball-bouncing combat. Descend into the abyss, level up for random upgrades, and craft buildings to boost damage and defense.
BALL x PIT
BALLxPIT is a simulation game that mixes base building with roguelite gameplay. You’ll pick from different ball types and use them to smash into waves of enemies—then watch them bounce, ricochet, and damage targets as they move. As you keep clearing rooms, you can upgrade your balls and combine items and gear to deal even more damage.
Because it’s a roguelite, each time you level up you’ll receive new buffs and equipment choices, plus the enemy roster becomes more randomized as you go. You can also construct buildings to strengthen both defense and damage output, giving you a real advantage as the runs get tougher.
Gameplay
Overall, BALL x PIT delivers lively, varied gameplay by blending ball-launching action, adventure-style progression, and base-building. Above ground, you can farm resources and build structures to boost your power. Underground, you’ll confront plenty of monsters—many of them carry dangerous “ball” weapons.
Before you start exploring, you choose a character. Each one has a distinct combat style, letting you enter a mysterious abyss. Inside, you fire different ball types that rebound off walls, ricochet through the battlefield, and hit enemies multiple times.
To make progress, you descend deeper. Every abyss layer brings new monsters and tougher boss fights. Defeating enemies earns experience and levels you up. After leveling, you’ll randomly select new weapons or effects to help you survive longer. It’s similar to other survivor-style roguelites, but with a vertical scrolling layout.
Strategies
Bounce smart with your balls

Instead of shooting directly at a target every time, try to find openings in the enemy front line. Well-placed shots can bounce between enemies and walls, trapping your balls behind enemy formations so they ricochet repeatedly and deal damage on each bounce.
Note: this approach can change depending on your build. Some builds may work better with straightforward, high single-target damage from the front, while others may focus on AOE effects triggered after a single hit. Pay attention to what your run is steering you toward.
Keep auto-shooting on (mostly)

In most situations, you’ll want auto-shooting enabled. However, turning it off can be helpful when you need to move quickly—such as when you dash behind enemy lines to grab a power-up.
This advice applies to most characters, but there are exceptions. For example, The Itchy Finger has a passive that keeps him moving at full speed at all times. If you pick up the Fleet Feet passive, you can also run at full speed even while shooting, plus it increases your movement speed.

Know how your character works

Every character begins with a starting weapon, has its own stats, and includes a unique passive ability (with the starting Warrior treated as the exception). Understanding these differences is key.
- If your character has high Leadership, build toward strategies that generate lots of “baby balls.”
- If your character has high Intelligence, you’ll usually benefit from AOE-focused balls such as lightning or earthquake.
- If your passive allows balls to pass through enemies until they hit the backline, prioritize upgrades that strengthen that pass-through behavior—don’t stack redundant effects that don’t improve it.
Also, don’t ignore weaknesses. For instance, if you’re playing as the Embedded and focus only on destroying the backline with your passive, you may struggle when a boss rushes closer and you lack strong close-range damage.
Don’t rely on just one character
Choosing a wider variety of characters can pay off. Some characters grant a percentage of extra gold when selected before a run. Certain buildings also provide bonuses for every unique character that has beaten a level. On top of that, each character has its own progression track with rewards at specific milestones—rewards that can support base building and resource gathering.
Player Comments
“This game is great. There are a ton of characters to unlock, and I love how each one can completely change how the game feels. I also really enjoy the variety between levels—I've played lots of roguelikes, and one thing I usually miss (for example, in games like Slay the Spire) is this kind of variety.”
“I also wanted to mention there aren’t in-app purchases besides buying the full game. I was a bit worried when I saw the in-app purchase label, but it seems to be only for the full version.”

“Hope you don’t mind a suggestion: could you add an alternative (optional) control scheme for play with just…”
