DAVE THE DIVER is a fast-paced action-adventure game where you step into the role of diver Dave. During the day, you explore the open ocean and hunt down rare fish. When night falls, Dave shifts gears and runs a sushi restaurant—using the fish you caught earlier to prepare meals for customers, earn money, and steadily upgrade both his diving gear and his sushi shop.

The game also blends Roguelike style runs with collection mechanics. While diving, you’ll randomly meet different fish and must use harpoons or other weapons to secure rare catches before your oxygen runs out. All of this happens while you deal with the threats and hazards lurking in deep water—so it’s part hunting, part survival, and part strategy.

If you’re into casual games, this one is definitely worth your time.

What You’ll Do in the Game

Ocean adventure

You begin your journey as Dave and explore a range of ocean zones, including coral reefs, caves, and deep-water areas. Search these regions for valuable treasures and uncover the ocean’s hidden secrets.

Missions and danger-filled challenges

Throughout the game, you’ll take on missions and challenges that test both your diving skills and your awareness. You may have to deal with obstacles like sharks, sharp coral, and exploding air bubbles. Use your diving know-how to push through hazards and reach the objective.

Multiplayer mode

Team up or go head-to-head with others. In multiplayer, you can challenge friends and other players and compare who’s the best diver through races and other competitive activities.

Progression and unlocks

As you advance, you’ll earn skill points and make overall progress that helps you unlock new characters, gear, and abilities—improving Dave’s performance underwater.

Graphics and sound

Dave The Diver Mobile features striking visuals and bold water-sport-style simulation effects. The audio is equally lively, creating an immersive environment that pulls you fully into the experience.

Useful Tips

Upgrade first—especially early on

At the start, it can be tempting to wonder what to do with all the gold you earn. Later, you’ll have even more ways to spend it, but your best move early is to put that gold into improving Dave’s diving setup to make each dive more effective.

There are four upgrade categories you can work on: carrying weight, suit, harpoon, and oxygen tank. If you’re not sure where to begin, focus on carrying capacity and oxygen first—this lets you stay underwater longer and bring up more fish. Be careful though: if you carry too much (especially early, when your limit is low), your movement gets slower and reaching the surface becomes harder.

Explore widely before going deeper

The Blue Hole is deeper than it is wide, but in the beginning you won’t be able to explore too far down. The good news is that there are plenty of fish available above 50 meters, so you can build up experience and stock before upgrading your suit to tackle the deeper Blue Hole depths.

Fish aren’t evenly distributed. You won’t find everything on the left side of the map where you start, so it’s worth traveling to the opposite side to discover species you haven’t seen yet.

Pick up everything you can (especially junk)

Besides fish, the shallow areas of the Blue Hole are packed with useful junk such as glass, rope, and scrap metal, along with many other materials. Most of these items weigh under half a kilogram, so you can collect a lot during a dive without immediately getting overloaded. If you do exceed your weight limit after catching fish, you can discard items to get back under the cap.

These “random” items serve multiple purposes. Once you unlock Cobra’s Premium Shop, you can sell them to boost your gold. That extra money can help you buy new interior items and recruit employees for Bancho’s Sushi Bar. You can also use some of these materials to craft new weapons and complete tasks through the Ecowatcher app.

Be careful with aggressive species

Fish with a small red diamond above their head will attack if they notice you. You can still catch them—either by killing them or using non-lethal options like the Net Gun or Hush Dart. However, aggressive fish will keep chasing you until you either create enough distance or successfully catch them.

Aggressive species can still be useful for making dishes, but you’ll want to avoid taking hits—one mistake can cost you time, oxygen, and your chance at the catch.
