Shades of the Past Play Shades of the Past on Android: a choice-driven 21-day adult story where you return home and chase the mystery behind your mother’s daily disappearances—while building a personal harem through branching encounters.
Shades of the Past
Shades of the Past is a story-focused adult game where you step into the role of the protagonist (MC) and take part in an unforgettable 21-day journey. Along the way, you’ll meet a series of seductive, alluring women, slowly uncover what’s behind the mystery of your mother’s daily disappearances, and eventually shape your own personal life—building a harem and finding a new kind of happiness, with various intimate H-scene moments unlocked as events unfold.

The game features multiple story routes. Each encounter with different women, along with the choices you make in dialogue, can significantly affect how the plot develops. Ready to see what really happened? Jump in and enjoy the journey in Shades of the Past.

Story
After spending six years locked away in an orphanage, cut off from your family, the summer of your 18th birthday finally arrives—you’re supposed to go home.
But home isn’t what you remember. Things are far from ideal, and the truth is much harsher than expected. Not only will you have to deal with why your mother vanishes every day and behaves as if she’s pushing you away, you’ll also have to face a reality that doesn’t match your past.
Without even meaning to, you end up tangled in the same thread that led to the orphanage in the first place—your father’s disappearance. With help from Yuko, your coworker, you’ll try to piece together what really happened, especially since the police investigation didn’t turn up anything conclusive.

During your MC’s first summer free from confinement, you become the central character of a 21-day adventure—one that will uncover your family’s darkest secrets while forcing you to reconsider everything you thought you knew. And throughout it all, a memorable cast of women appears, each with their own small sub-plots that keep your choices and interactions moving.

Player Comments
- “Really enjoyed this one.” The mystery grabbed me quickly, and honestly… the aunt is extremely attractive. Every scene with her lands perfectly. I’m slightly concerned about where the mother storyline is heading, but it also adds tension and curiosity—which I really like. The animations are smooth and definitely above average. There weren’t many choices, but it didn’t bother me at all; it felt like the developer already knew what I’d pick anyway. The pacing and direction just work. Overall, I loved the game—it feels confident, stylish, and interesting, and it leaves you wanting more. More updates soon, please.
- “Pretty good art and character designs.” Some scenes are a bit too dark, though still readable. The dialogue could use a second pass, but overall it’s acceptable. It’s not the worst game, but it’s not the best either—still, it feels like it gets unfairly judged. 3/5.
- “First question: why the orphanage backstory?” The MC doesn’t seem angry about it—there appears to be no clear blame, and it doesn’t change how he views his family. There’s nothing that couldn’t have been explained without that element. The text clearly needs improvement, especially if the creator isn’t writing in English.
