Gameplay

This is a super simple vertical 2D casual game. Your character is a young man practicing “Breaking” in a poetic world of rivers and mountains.

Along the bottom of the screen, you’ll find a vertical list of different break types/levels. As you progress through the game’s stages, you unlock these options one after another.

How the early levels work

At the start, the young man begins by cutting a very thin piece of wood using his hand. You must push through the pain/health limit: if you don’t exceed the threshold, you move on to the next level.

Pay attention to the amount, thickness, and material of the object you’re breaking, and compare it to the health shown on your character’s health bar. Once the chopping is done, if the blood/pain hasn’t fully stopped, you’re considered to have “overcome the pain.” If your blood runs out, you’ll have to replay the previous level.

Progress step by step

Go slowly and take it one step at a time. Advancement isn’t something you should rush. Don’t overload yourself by trying to break too much wood, too many bricks, or a very hard material—doing that can hurt you and force you to backtrack.

• Save tokens for the right time: Start saving tokens before you reach the rank you need so you can ascend immediately (unless you choose to take an Ascension break). • Ascend near the end of a run: Waiting until later helps you gain a lot of mob kill XP per monster and recover ranks faster. Just avoid ascending on too high a level, since after the initial DPS loss you may struggle to defeat monsters there. You can always switch back temporarily to an easier stage if needed.
• After re-unlocking Endless Focus: Once you’ve ascended and unlocked Endless Focus again, wait before using it—use it at the right moment based on the mob kill XP you’re currently earning.
