Survivors vs. Maniacs

Two sides can appear in the field: survivors and maniacs.

• Survivors must stick together, help each other, and keep track of the generators scattered across the map.
• Maniacs use the survivors’ screams to locate targets. When survivors get attacked, their movement speed drops gradually until they’re trapped and waiting for someone to rescue them.

When a survivor is wounded, they need help from a teammate who can heal and remove harmful effects. These consequences may include slower movement and bloody footprints, which makes it easier for maniacs to track and capture them. Once a survivor is placed in a cage, re-entering it too often is dangerous—entering it again can cost you the match.

There’s also a warning system: red appears repeatedly on the survivor’s portrait. When the red indicator reaches its peak intensity, that character is effectively out of play.
