Uber Eats Introduction
Uber Eats Uber Eats makes it fast to order delivery or pickup from nearby restaurants and local shops. Search by cuisine, track delivery live, and use coupons for great savings.
Uber Eats

Uber Eats is a simple, local services app that helps you find nearby places fast. With just a tap, you can browse restaurants and other services around you, then narrow results by category to quickly discover options like fast food, Chinese takeout, pharmacies, supermarkets, pet stores, and more.

Once you place an order, you’ll get professional delivery—typically quick and reliable. You can also follow the journey in real time, including delivery progress and an estimated arrival time. After delivery, you can leave a rating or review for the restaurant and the delivery person. The app also runs regular promotions and member events, so you can join in to collect coupons and discounts and enjoy convenient shopping at better prices.

User Reviews
- Value concerns: “Food prices are pretty outrageous lately, so I rarely use delivery apps. When I do, I usually go with Uber Eats. The deals are great, it’s easy to use, and you can always check where your food is.”
- Support experience: “Uber Eats has solid customer service. I don’t complain often, but when I have issues, they get resolved. Don’t scam people, and you do get real support. Also—some restaurants that don’t allow additional messages can be frustrating.”
- Grocery reliability: “With only a few exceptions, the service is very good. For groceries, substitutes are handled interactively, so you avoid the problem of a key item not being delivered. Keep your phone handy for notifications.”
- Speed and busy times: “Food delivery is usually faster than expected, but during peak hours courier availability can get tight. I also like that drivers receive the full tip since they’re doing the work for me.”
- Local note: “Uber Eats is especially good in Sri Lanka right now. The new pickme update, though, can make the app a bit glitchy.”
- Uber One savings (review): “Uber One is great if you order frequently—delivery, service, and tax costs add up, so it’s worth it.”
- Pickup issue (review): “Sometimes a delivery driver picks up orders on the way, which lowers the delivery charge. But one problem I’ve seen is drivers going to the pickup spot, checking the place, canceling, and not picking it up.”
Frequently Asked Questions

Why did I receive a price adjustment notification?
- If your order is still in progress, open the order tracking page in the app to see the details and the reasons for the adjustment.
- If your order was already delivered, you can find the price adjustment details on your order receipt.
Why did my order total increase?
Your order total may rise if you made a special request. For example, if you ask for “extra onions” on an item, the merchant might add a charge to fulfill that request.
Do I have to schedule my gift right away?
No—but there is an expiration window:
- The initial message will say the gift “will expire in 6 days if delivery isn’t scheduled.”
- The “Choose delivery time” screen will show a deadline (for example: “Schedule by May 5 before the gift expires”).
- If you try to leave the scheduling screen, a pop-up will ask whether you want to “Schedule later” or “Schedule now,” reminding you of the deadline.
What if my gift includes alcohol?
If your gift includes alcohol, make sure you have a valid form of identification proving you’re old enough to receive the delivery. If you don’t meet the requirements, the entire order will be returned to the store.
