Wall Running returns from earlier entries. During a match, two shinobi can battle while climbing the walls of the selected stage. However, the behavior is different from previous versions: if one fighter moves up the wall, the other fighter is not forced to mirror that wall climb and can still fight from the ground.

Leader Swap is a new team-focused feature. Instead of only fighting as your main character, you can swap the active fighter during the fight—using your support characters to take the lead against your opponent.
