Spend more time with your Defense Force officers and you’ll gradually unlock personal story moments plus additional voice lines. Battle Tips & Strategies

• Your Ultimate can act like an extra turn

  When you deal damage with a character, that unit’s Ultimate gauge starts filling. Once ready, the Ultimate becomes the unit’s strongest attack. Use it to hit multiple monsters on-screen and maximize damage.

  An important detail (the game briefly explains this) is that you can activate almost any character’s Ultimate at nearly any time. There are a few exceptions—for example, at the very start of a battle if the enemy gets the first turn.

  This timing flexibility can help you secure an extra turn. Depending on the situation, it may even delay or prevent your enemies from acting for a while. For instance: if you’re down to one unit before an enemy, and that enemy has two armor plates, you might normally get punished if you can’t finish the enemy with your current unit. But if one of your other units has its Ultimate ready, you can trigger it before your current unit attacks—granting you that additional attack while also helping you break the enemy’s armor.



• Reroll until you get a strong character

  If you’re playing the gacha side of the game, rerolling is an option as soon as you unlock the gacha menu. If the early pulls don’t give you anything useful, you can restart by deleting your account and recovering the currencies you receive at the beginning—so you’re not just grinding for future summons.

  

  Also remember: there’s a one-time free 5-star available from the Standard Banner. You can claim one of those, then focus your remaining pulls on additional targets. Gen Narumi and KAIJU NO. 8 are good choices to aim for.



• Kafka transformed into KAIJU NO. 8 is a great starter

  Right at the start, you’ll receive the series’ protagonist, Hibino Kafka, as a Four-Star unit in your squad. In other games, players often replace early characters with flashier options—but in this one, that can be a mistake. Kafka is a solid foundation to build around from the beginning.
