Engaging Gameplay

1) Events outside the garage

Start by triggering new events located beyond the garage. From the left side of the garage, head toward Raccoon City’s main street. This will set off a chain of events involving Claire, ending with an Easter egg featuring Ada Wong.

2) The back alley encounter

From the back alley connected to the right corridor of the garage, you’ll meet five zombies as soon as you enter. Use a variety of weapons to attack them. If you defeat all five, the area becomes unlocked. If you lose the fight, a related event will trigger instead.

3) Item checks at the end of the alley

At the alley’s right end, examine four items: a police officer, debris, a radio, and bullets. The bullets are located in the lower-left corner of the area. There are also additional bullets in the lower-left corner of the left-side room.

4) Corridor progression and key objective

At the end of the corridor on the left, a new area opens. On the right side you’ll find a key item called Old Key. On the left side, you can enter the Raccoon City sewers.

5) Entering the sewers

Once you enter the sewers, you’ll encounter three survivors, each starting a sequence of conversations. To move deeper, the survivors will ask you to bring them Coke. (You can find Cola in the room left of the garage, specifically on the right side of that room.)

Survivor clue requirements (sewers)

After entering the sewers, the three survivors provide information in different ways. Some of them won’t reveal clues until you meet their required item or dialogue condition.

• (Jessica): Gives general clues with no prerequisites.
• (Emily): Requires a weapon to provide clues. She can share information about a locked D10 door and clues related to two different keys.



• (Matthew): Requires help from others to provide clues. He can directly provide information about the second key.

Choosing who to learn the D10 key clue from

You can only choose one of (Emily) or (Matthew) to obtain the key clue connected to the D10 door key.

• If you get the D10-door key clue from Emily, you cannot receive clues from Matthew.
• If you get Matthew’s clue, you cannot receive clues from Emily.

D10 door event and confrontation

After you collect both keys and open the D10 door, a sequence of events begins. Matthew tries to stop you from leaving, triggering a confrontation.

During the fight, you can use conventional weapons or a pistol. You must land five attacks on Matthew within ten seconds. Attacking the wrong target will not count.

• If you defeat Matthew, the game continues and you can proceed to the next area.
• If Matthew defeats you, he will capture all female survivors.
