Forza Horizon 3

Forza Horizon 3

Forza Horizon 3 is a widely loved open-world racing game set in Australia, giving you a huge playground to roam. Cruise through a variety of locations, compete on different tracks, and take on rivals to prove your skills—then earn prizes, win races, and unlock even more cars along the way.

Beyond the scenery, the game offers deep customization. You can swap and upgrade different parts to improve how your car performs and tailor its look to match your driving style. The world also features changing weather, so you can return at any time and experience fresh driving conditions.

Gameplay

Set in a fictional open-world version of Australia, the map is roughly twice the size of Forza Horizon 2. The landscape is organized into places and regions inspired by real Australian areas.

In earlier Horizon games, you played as one of the racers at the Horizon Festival. In Forza Horizon 3, you’re the festival director. Your job is to grow the festival across Australia by completing races, challenges, and stunts to earn fans. Reach the fan milestones, and you can unlock new festival sites and additional events.

Racing Modes

  • Exhibition: A single race in a chosen location.
  • Championship: Multiple races spread across the game world.
  • Rivals: Race against an AI opponent in a time trial, aiming to beat the opponent’s recorded time.

Challenges and Custom Race Creation

You can also take part in Bucket List Challenges—tasks completed using a specific vehicle. A newer addition called Horizon Blueprint lets you customize races and design your own Bucket List Challenges.

Other Activities

  • Bonus boards: Breakable boards you can find around the map. Driving over them rewards you with either experience points or a discount on fast travel.
  • Barn find rumors: As you progress, you’ll hear rumors about vehicles hidden in barns—then you can locate and restore them.
  • Stunts and skill points: Perform vehicle stunts to earn skill points. Spend enough of them to buy perks that can grant cars, experience points, in-game currency, driving advantages, and more.
  • Forzathon competitions: Seasonal-style weekly challenges that offer rewards when completed.
